Koepka left stunned after heartwarming gesture by Woods

Brooks Koepka was moved by Tiger Woods deciding to wait half an hour to congratulate him on his PGA Championship victory at Bellerive, according to a report on the Golf Channel.

Woods finished in second place and narrowly missed victory but he proved his class by waiting to congratulate his fellow countryman.

Both players have immense respect for each other but Koepka didn’t expect Woods to wait and pass on his best regards after the event was over.

When speaking about the incident, Koepka said:

That was surreal.

To hang around on 18, I wasn’t expecting it. It was probably the coolest gesture he could have done.

Woods is still searching for his first victory since returning to the golf course after spending a lengthy period of time out of action due to multiple surgeries on his back.

The American has admitted that he is grateful to even be playing golf after almost being unable to walk just one year ago.

Woods did very well to come back and finish in second place at the PGA event but ultimately, Koepka did just enough to hang on for the win.

The gesture by Woods is an example for any sportsman to be gracious in victory and in defeat.
